Our beliefs serve to unify us around a central mission and message.

1 Corinthians 1:10 says,

“Now I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united with the same understanding and the same conviction.”

  • We believe that in essential beliefs, we must have unity.

  • We believe that in non-essential beliefs, we have liberty.

  • We believe that in all beliefs, we show charity towards one-another.

Read below to find out more about our core beliefs that unite us as a church family.

 Our Core Beliefs

  • We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God.

-That the 66 books of the Old and New Testament were inspired by the Spirit of God as originally written.

-That the Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

  • We believe in one God, Creator of all—holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Co-equal in nature and united in will. (Matt. 3:16-17, 28:19-20; Jn. 1:1-14, 14:16-17; 2 Cor. 3:14; 1 Jn. 5:7-8)

  • We believe in the absolute and essential deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Jn. 1:1, 14)

-In His eternal existence, with the Father in pre-incarnate glory.

-In His work of creation, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, and bodily resurrection.

-In His triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry, and personal return.

  • We believe in the absolute and essential deity, and in the personality of the Holy Spirit. (Jn. 15:26, 16:8)

-Who convinces of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.

-Who regenerates, indwells, seals, sanctifies, illuminates, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.

-Who baptizes believers at conversion into the Body of Christ and bestows upon them His gifts sovereignly as He wills and fills those yielded to Him.

  • We believe that Adam was divinely created in the image of God. (Gen. 1:27)

-That by the sin of disobedience he fell from that state. (Rom. 3:3, 5:17-21)

-That all his posterity inherited spiritual depravity and defilement. (Rom. 1:28-32, 7:18, 8:7-8)

-That all men, therefore, are guilty before God and condemned to physical and spiritual death. (Rom. 3:23, 6:23)

  • We believe that salvation is a gift of God given to those who choose to place their faith and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It is not something we can earn, rather it is solely a gift of God’s grace that He saves and transforms us into His children.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

    We affirm…

    • That by the Father, Christ voluntarily suffered a propitiatory death. (Meaning, Jesus substituted Himself in our place of judgment.) (Jn. 3:16; Rom. 3:25, 5:8, 6:23; 1 Jn. 2:2, 4:10)

    • That justification is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12; Rom. 5:1-2; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8)

    • That nothing, not even ourselves, can take away the gift that God has so freely given to those who trust in Him. (Jn. 5:24, 10:27-29; Rom. 8:38-39; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 1:13-14; Phil. 1:6; Heb. 6:4-8, 7:25; 1 Pet. 1:5)

  • We believe that God has established a place of judgment called “Hell” for those who do not place their faith and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

    We believe that…

    • Hell is a real, physical place that is horrible beyond our comprehension.

    • Hell is the eternal end for those who do not profess Christ as Lord. (Matt. 8:12, 10:28, 25:41; Mk. 9:48; 2 Thes. 1:9; Rev. 20:10, 14-15)

    • God does not want anyone to go to Hell. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross and take our place of judgment so that we could avoid Hell and have a relationship with Him. (Jn. 3:16; 2 Pet. 3:9)

    • God is holy and just, and His judgment is always righteous and true. We all stand condemned unless we trust our lives to Jesus. (PS. 9:8, 96:13; Habk. 1:13; Jn. 3:18; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:11-12)

We also believe in God’s grace towards those who are incapable of trusting in Jesus (e.g., innocent children and the intellectually/developmentally disabled). We believe the Bible affirms an age of accountability whereas a person is not guilty because he or she was born; rather, a person is guilty for the sins he or she volitionally commits in disobedience to God. (Deut. 1:39; 2 Sam. 12:21-23; Ez. 18:20; Matt. 19:14)

  • We believe the primary mission of God toward humanity is to redeem, restore, and reconcile all of creation to Himself through Jesus Christ, reversing the effects of sin to establish His kingdom and bring glory to His name. (Mt. 24:14; Lk. 19:10; 2 Cor. 5:18-20)

    God did this by sending Jesus into this world to take our place of judgment so that we could have a relationship with Him and be part of His forever family. (Jn. 1:12, 3:16; Rom. 6:23;

The Apostle Paul writes, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” (1 Cor. 15:3-4, NIV)

Because of Jesus’ sacrifice for us, our paramount purpose is to share this life or death news with everyone everywhere so that they might not experience God’s judgment, but spend eternity in His presence. Our mission is to make Jesus known to others and share with them how they can be “saved” from eternal judgment and spend eternity in the wonderful presence of God. (Mt. 28:19-20; 2 Cor. 5:18-20)

Therefore, everything we do as a church is revolved around this mission: to reach people with the gospel and lead them to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

We would encourage you to read the Baptist Faith & Message for a more comprehensive presentation of our beliefs.
